The Georgia State Public Affairs Committee (GA SPAC) is the statewide advocacy arm of the Junior Leagues of Georgia. We convene delegates from across the state, educate and mobilize members, and champion policies that improve the lives of women, children, and families. GA SPAC meets three times annually, including Capitol Day at the State Capitol, where all League members are invited to participate.
We organize our work around four pillars that guide priorities, partnerships, and action.
Aid & Protection (of women and children)
Safeguarding those most at risk through policy and partnerships focused on safety, exploitation prevention, child welfare, and survivor support.
Healthcare
Promoting access to quality care, preventative services, and maternal and child health resources that lead to healthier families and communities.
Education
Advancing policies and programs that expand learning access, literacy, and leadership development for girls and families.
Equity (added in the 2023 to 2024 JLGA SPAC year, with emphasis on housing)
Addressing barriers that limit opportunity, with a current focus on housing stability and fair access to essential resources.
We track legislation and engage policymakers to enhance community engagement, while elevating the unified voice of the Junior Leagues of Georgia on priority issues through our State Public Affairs Committee and initiatives like Georgia STOMP.
We support Junior Leagues of Georgia throughout the state by providing nonpartisan trainings, toolkits, and briefings to enhance their community engagement efforts. This empowers them to effectively advocate in their communities through initiatives like Georgia STOMP and the State Public Affairs Committee.
Build coalitions that multiply impact through community engagement, from local partners to statewide networks like the Junior Leagues of Georgia and the State Public Affairs Committee, supporting initiatives such as Georgia STOMP.
